Waterlily

Waterlily is very beautiful !  I like it.  My feeling of this flower is peaceful and quiet, looking at waterlily, I get peace of mind.  In the morning, dewdrops on the petal, a waterdrop falling down into lake, it makes surge spread out to the shore. It's beauty likes as a virgin wash her hair in the pool. It is amazing!!

How’s a beautiful day :)

Ciao, come stai? Io sono cinese a Hong Kong. Sono studente di italiano. Hahaha...

Good morning, everyone! I was in trouble and unhappy, I won’t to write in my blog for long time.  Chinese New Year is passed, spring is arrived in Hong Kong.  I sat by the window at Delifrance in Sheung Wan.  It was raining from 4:30pm. I looked outside the window; many people took an umbrella walking in the street.  Small rain drops were falling down, it dropped on the glass.  Little drops knocked the door, it said “ good days are come and good luck is arrived, everything will be better soon’  I was in the mood to write again.

The day after was a sunny day.  I was walking in a garden, there was many butterflies flying between the plants and flowers.  I like butterfly, it likes a girl wear a gorgeous dress dance in the garden.  Butterfly is not only has meaning of the person pursue pleasure or changeable people, but also has beautiful image as a fantastic girl or an angel represents a wonderful story and blessing.

Butterfly (farfalla) is an insect, it has six walking legs, 3 body parts, a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton. The three body parts are the head, thorax and abdomen. It is flying insect with large scaly wings. The life of a butterfly is marked by four vastly different stages: egg, caterpillar, pupa, and adult. The egg hatches into a caterpillar, which immediately feeds on the leaf of the plant where it has hatched.

The caterpillar grows and molts, shedding its exoskeleton when that becomes too small. After four to six molts, the caterpillar pupates or transforms. Butterflies pupate in a chrysalis. Butterflies do not form cocoons. The pupa or chrysalis is soft at first but in about an hour, the shell hardens to protect the growing butterfly within. It’s a beautiful shade of green to help disguise it from predators. The pupa has no eyes, antennae or legs but inside a complete metamorphosis is going on. The mouth changes from what the caterpillar needed to chew milkweed leaves into a straw-like tongue that the butterfly will need to sip nectar from flowers. It grows wings about two weeks.

Finally, the shell bursts open and a butterfly emerges. It has four wings which are tiny, wet and wrinkly, after a couple of hours it can fly. The butterfly pumps body fluid, called hemolymph, into the wings to make them grow big and strong. After the wings have hardened, it’s time to eat! The butterfly flies off in search of its first meal, which it will slurp up through its straw-like tongue or proboscis. After just dining on milkweed, butterflies enjoy a little more variety and take their nectar from several different flowers, making them one of nature’s migratory pollinators.

Butterflies are cold blooded and must depend on their environment for heat. To fly, their body temperature needs to be greater than 75°F. On cooler days they often bask with outstretched wings on a rock or other flat surface to store up heat energy. The dark patterns on many butterfly wings help the insects absorb solar energy. On cloudy, cool, or windy days, most butterflies remain in protected spots. You are likely to spot them in warm, sunny, calm areas where flowering plants can supply the butterflies with nectar.
Butterflies are attracted to flowers, they prefer purple, red, yellow, orange, or pink blossoms; flat-topped or clustered flowers; and short flower tubes. A well-planned butterfly garden has blooming flowers throughout spring, summer, and early autumn. This provides a continuous food source and plants of varying heights to accommodate large and small butterflies. A butterfly-friendly garden contains both adult nectar plants and caterpillar host plants. A few common vegetables also serve as caterpillar host plants. Butterfly gardeners plant extra vegetables, which is enough for them and their caterpillars. As a bonus, butterfly gardens often attract hummingbirds.
